The Wipro full form is Western India Products. It is a Bangalore-based private limited company that provides IT consulting and system integration services. It began as a company that produced sunflower oil and vegetables, but it now specializes in IT consulting, lighting, system integration, consumer care, and healthcare, among other things.
WIPRO began as a sunflower oil factory in the small town of Amalner in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district on December 29, 1945, by Mohamed Hasham Premji. Wipro’s current CEO, Azim Premji, is the son of Mohamed Hasham Premji. After his father’s death, Azim Premji took over the firm and carried it to new heights. From March 31, 2013, he demerges its non-IT companies into Wipro Enterprises Limited, allowing him to focus on the core IT business.
Wipro is now one of the largest IT consulting and system integration companies in the world, with more than 1.5 lakh workers.
