The Indian Statistical Service, which is appointed by the Union Public Service Commission, or the Subordinate Service, which is appointed by the Staff Selection Commission, are the two groups of persons who work for the NSSO. Survey Design and Research Division (SDRD), Field Operations Division (FOD), Data Processing Division (DPD), and Coordination and Publication Division are the four primary divisions of the National Sample Survey Organisation (CPD).
The SDRD is in charge of survey planning, formulation, and design, as well as sample design, concepts, and definitions. The FDO is in charge of performing socioeconomic and industrial statistics surveys, among other things. The DPD is in charge of data processing, tabulation, and dissemination, while the CPD is in charge of coordinating the work of all NSSO divisions.
