The nid full form is National Institute of Design. NIDs, or National Institutes of Design, are self-governing public design colleges spread across India. Jorhat (Assam), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Kurukshetra (Haryana), Bangalore (Karnataka), Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), and Bhopal (MP) all have NIDs (Madhya Pradesh). The institutes are run by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), which is part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India. The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, which is part of the Ministry of Science and Technology, has recognized NIDs as a scientific and industrial design research organization.

Network Interface Device
A network interface device (NID; also known by various other names) in telecommunications is a device that acts as a demarcation point between the carrier’s local loop and the customer’s premises cabling. Outdoor telephone NIDs also give the subscriber access to the station wiring and act as a convenient test point for loop integrity and the subscriber’s internal wiring.
